The San Bernardino County Fire Department is pioneering a cutting-edge wildfire detection system designed to proactively combat the region’s escalating wildfire risk, which will benefit everyone including the utilities operating in the region.  This innovative wildfire preparedness approach centers on a network of sophisticated sensors strategically deployed across the county, engineered to identify a critical precursor to many devastating wildfires: lightning-induced electrical activity.
