Eileen Unger, our Founder, President and Fearless Leader, has been named as Vice President of Durand’s Board of Trustees.  The previous Vice President, Marc Sano, has been elevated to Chairman.  Eileen joined the Durand Academy Board in 2014 and has added tremendous value to the organization over the past 6 years.

Eileen Unger Profile and Background

Eileen is a true industry veteran, with an impressive 32 years of well-rounded experience in the engineering, construction and utility industries, and her company Emergency Preparedness Partnerships (EPP) is still going strong after 20 years in business.  As Marketing Director for EPP, I have personally worked with Eileen for nearly a decade and let me tell you, she is one of the fairest, most upstanding and highest-character individuals you’d ever be lucky enough to meet.

Due to her many accomplishments over the years, Eileen is extremely well-respected in the utility industry.  She has received numerous awards and recognitions as a direct result of her unique standing as a woman entrepreneur and business owner in the field of emergency preparedness.  These include:

  • 2004, People to Watch honoree – South Jersey Magazine
  • 2004, Woman of Influence award – NJBIZ Magazine
  • 2004, Executive Director election – NJEPA
  • 2006, Trailblazer of the Year award Wells Fargo and National Association of Women Business Owners
  • 2006, Women of Distinction award – Philadelphia Business Journal
  • 2006, Enterprising Women of the Year award finalist – Enterprising Women
  • 2013, International Women in Emergency Management and Homeland Security Hall of Fame inductee
  • 2014, People to Watch honoree – South Jersey Magazine
  • 2016, Business Excellence Award – South Jersey Magazine
  • 2018, induction into the Atlantic County NJ Women’s Hall of Fame

Eileen’s vast expertise is a perfect fit for Durand’s needs, as evidenced by her appointment to Vice President.  Durand’s mission is to provide quality learning opportunities to individuals with developmental and learning disorders such as autism, and to offer services and resources to their families.  Durand has been fulfilling this mission for over 40 years and currently serves 300 clients with a staff of over 300 employees.

Congratulations to Eileen Unger from your loyal EPP employees!
