Unger Named NJEPA Executive Director
Hammonton, NJ – January 2004 – The New Jersey Emergency Preparedness Association (NJEPA) has named Eileen Unger, a partner in Emergency Preparedness Partnerships (EPP), as its Executive Director.
NJEPA promotes with absolute vigor the development of public & private partnerships in planning, response, recovery and mitigation in all types of emergencies. The nonprofit organization provides education and training for all persons and agencies involved in the emergency management field by hosting the annual New Jersey Emergency Preparedness Conference. As Executive Director, Unger fills a critical role.
Unger and other EPP personnel (Michael Caffrey, Matthew Custer, Michael Di Auria, Richard Hobson, Thomas Langley, and John Thompson) have volunteered their planning, organizational and communication services to NJEPA since its Spring 2001 conference. During that time, NJEPA has become one of the largest and most respected conferences in the country for community and private emergency planning agencies and organizations, drawing emergency response professionals from 6 states.
Unger is a natural choice to be Executive Director, having over 30 years of utility experience working for large investor-owned utilities as well as her own startup. EPP is growing steadily thanks to Eileen’s insistence on quality and strength listening to the needs of clients. Unger has won many awards over the years, and is considered a true expert in her field.
